Here are the answers to all of your questions:

What will I learn at this training?

You will have the opportunity to learn in a classroom setting, small group discussions, and hands on experiences of learning about AIM, the Five Objectives on a mission project and how to lead an AIM trip.

What time should I arrive/depart at the conference if I’m driving?
Arrival: If driving, please plan on arriving between 5-6pm for registration.
Departure: If you are driving, you may leave as soon as camp has been cleaned. This is around noon.

What time will there be an AIM staff at the airport to pick up/drop off leader training participants?
Pick up time: Plan to be at the airport around 3pm. AIM bus will leave promptly at 5pm. AIM Staff will meet you at the Baggage Claim and we will direct you from there.

Drop off time: Plan on scheduling your flight out after 2pm. AIM will drop you off at the airport around noon.

If I’m driving in on my own, where do I go?
Ocoee Camp- Whitewater Express
196 Eagle Ranch Road
Copperhill, TN 37317

What airport should I fly into?
Chattanooga, TN Airport

Where will I sleep?
Copperhill, TN: Plan on sleeping in one of the rustic cabins with bunk beds. There is electricity! Plan on bringing a pillow, sleeping bag, and good flashlight.

Where will I shower?
Bathrooms and showers will be located in a separate building outside of housing. There are separate accommodations for males and females but there are limited showers so plan time accordingly. Hot water is limited.

Where are the bathrooms?
There is a bath house on the property.

Is food provided?
Meals will be provided and prepared by AIM staff and volunteers. We do our best to be sure there’s a balanced meal by providing fruit, salad, bread, and a main course. If you have any allergies, please notify us BEFORE the training so we can plan accordingly.

Am I allowed to come if I’m not able to come to the whole training?
On a case-by-case basis we understand that there will be a conflict in schedules that is why there are a few different leader-training events. If you’re unable to attend one of them in their entirety than you will need to get permission from Field Support.

What does it mean when I’m invited to this leader training?
When you’re invited to training that means that we want to get to know you more as you get to know us. It’s the next step in the application process. We want to begin equipping you for the field and praying with you about your part in the Great Commission with Adventures in Missions.

What is “Leading From Your Strengths” and why do I have to take it before coming to the training? “Through a quick and simple online assessment, you will immediately receive a comprehensive, objective, personal and encouraging report. You will gain tremendous insight into your natural strengths and how those strengths are operating in your life and the way in which you lead (missionsinsight.com).” We want to get to know you and learn about your strengths, how you work well in a team and be able to empower you to be a great leader!
